What exactly is Das Dorfgefühl?

Das Dorfgefühl is a modern Bed and Breakfast in Westendorf, in the Brixental, Tyrol – right in the heart of the Kitzbühel Alps.

A little traditional, a little modern and very much about feeling at home. You get a cozy place to stay, breakfast in the morning and plenty of options to make your holiday exactly the way you like it.

Mountain adventures? Yes.
Doing absolutely nothing? Also yes.

For anyone looking for a little time out in the mountains.

Couples, friends, families, solo travellers, hikers, skiers or simply people who feel like escaping everyday life for a while – everyone is welcome here.

Come as you are, take a breath and make your stay your own.
What is included in my stay?

Your stay includes overnight accommodation and breakfast.

Depending on the season and availability, you can also join activities from the weekly programme we offer together with our partner, Landhotel Schermer – including yoga, Pilates, alpine hut visits or wine tastings. Some activities may come at an additional cost.
What are the rooms like at Das Dorfgefühl?

Our rooms are modern, cozy and focused on the essentials – without unnecessary fuss.

Depending on your room category, highlights include a balcony, a comfy lounge chair and a cozy chill-out sofa.
What time is check-in and check-out?

Your room is ready for you from 3:00 pm on arrival day. 

On departure day, it’s time to say Servus by 10:00 am.
Is free Wi-Fi available?

Of course. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout Das Dorfgefühl during your stay.
Is parking available?

Yes. Parking spaces are available directly opposite Das Dorfgefühl.

Simply park your car and let your holiday begin.
Can I get to Westendorf by train?

Absolutely – and we’ll take care of the last bit.

Our transfer to and from the train station is included for our guests. Just let us know by email in advance if you’d like to use the station transfer.

And one important thing: if your train is delayed, please let us know.

Food & the DorfLounge

Is breakfast included at Das Dorfgefühl?

Of course. Breakfast is already included in your stay.

Breakfast is served daily from 8:00 to 10:00 am – nice and easy, no alarm-clock stress required.
What can I expect at the DorfLounge?

The DorfLounge is our little living room for everyone staying with us.

Grab a coffee, enjoy a cold drink, heat up a Pinsa or simply sit back and let the day wind down.

Drinks are super easy: just write them in the bar book under your room number and settle everything at check-out.
Where can I have dinner?

While we don’t have our own restaurant, you definitely won’t stay hungry. 😉

For €30 per person, you can enjoy a half-board dinner at Schermer’s Wirtshaus.

There are also several restaurants close to Das Dorfgefühl – from traditional Tyrolean cuisine at Reiterstüberl to Neapolitan-style pizza at Alpenhof or dinner with a mountain view at Gasthaus Alte Mittel.

And if you’re looking for an easy Snack: grab a Pinsa to bake at the DorfLounge.
 
Can I add dinner to my stay?

Yes. For €30 per person, you can add dinner at Landhotel Schermer to your stay.
Can I add some wellness to my stay?

Yes, please!

Thanks to our partnership with Landhotel Schermer, you can easily add a little extra wellness to your mountain getaway.

Our Spa Day including an afternoon snack costs €50 per person.

And the best part? Many adventures start right outside our door or are just a short trip away.
What can I do in Westendorf in summer?

Summer in Westendorf means: put on your shoes and head outside.

Go hiking, mountain biking, discover alpine lakes, visit mountain huts or simply enjoy the fresh Tyrolean mountain air.

Your guest card also gives you access to various benefits and activities depending on the season.
What can I do in Westendorf in winter?

Of course, there’s skiing and snowboarding – but there’s more to winter here.

Explore the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental, go winter hiking, cross-country skiing or sledding, or simply enjoy a snowy day in the mountains.

How close is the ski lift to Das Dorfgefühl?

The ski lift is just a few metres from Das Dorfgefühl, so you can easily reach it on foot.

In winter, the ski bus also takes you to the lifts and into the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental ski area.

In summer, you’re right in the middle of it all too – hiking, mountain biking and alpine adventures practically start at our doorstep.
How close is the ski area to Das Dorfgefühl?

Das Dorfgefühl is located very close to the ski lift, giving you easy access to SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental.
What can I experience in the Kitzbühel Alps?

The Kitzbühel Alps are your playground for outdoor fun – summer and winter.

In summer, think hiking, mountain biking, alpine lakes, mountain huts and plenty of nature. In winter, it’s all about skiing, winter walks, cross-country skiing and snowy mountain adventures.

And Westendorf is your laid-back home base for it all.
 
Is Westendorf part of the Kitzbühel Alps?

Yes! Westendorf is located in the Brixental and is part of the Kitzbühel Alps.

That means you’re staying right in the middle of one of Tyrol’s best-known holiday regions – surrounded by mountains, alpine meadows and endless outdoor possibilities.
Does Das Dorfgefühl offer activities and a weekly programme?

Yes! Together with Landhotel Schermer, we offer a varied weekly programme for your holiday in Westendorf, depending on the season. 

Activities can include yoga, Pilates, alpine hut visits and wine tastings.

Is there a fitness room?

As a guest at Das Dorfgefühl, you can use the fitness room at Landhotel Schermer.

Or, if you prefer your workouts outdoors, the mountains around Westendorf are basically our biggest gym. 😉
What does the guest card offer?

You will automatically receive the free Brixental Guest Card when you check in. Each family member aged 5 and over receives their own card for the duration of their stay.

The card is your ticket to numerous free services and discounts throughout the Kitzbühel Alps:

  • Free public transport: Enjoy free travel on all regional bus lines (from Wörgl to Kitzbühel/Aschau) as well as all ÖBB regional trains (S-Bahn/REX) between Kirchbichl and Hochfilzen.
  • Free swimming pool admission: Free access to the outdoor public swimming pools in Westendorf, Brixen im Thale and Kirchberg.
  • Activity programme: Free or discounted participation in guided hikes, bike tours and the weekly family programme.

Can I enjoy my holiday without a car?

Absolutely. Westendorf is well connected by public transport, and many places can be reached on foot or by ski bus.

For your arrival and departure, our train station transfer is included for guests.

Are dogs allowed at Das Dorfgefühl?

Yes, your four-legged friend is welcome to join the mountain adventure. 🐶

Dogs are welcome at Das Dorfgefühl for an additional €20 per dog and night.
 
Is Das Dorfgefühl suitable for a short getaway?

Absolutely.

You don’t need two weeks off to get your mountain fix. Das Dorfgefühl is perfect for a short break, weekend getaway or spontaneous mountain escape in Tyrol.

Check in, breathe in the mountain air, enjoy breakfast – and suddenly everything feels a little lighter.
 
When is Das Dorfgefühl open?

Our seasons are roughly divided into:

Winter season: Early December to around the beginning of April
Summer & autumn: Mid-May to around the beginning of November

What are the cancellation conditions?

Winter Season
Free cancellation is possible up to 6 weeks before arrival.

For cancellations made after this period, the following fees will be charged based on the total booking amount:

  • Less than 6 weeks to 2 weeks before arrival: 50%
  • Less than 2 weeks before arrival: 100%


Summer Season
Free cancellation is possible up to 2 weeks before arrival.

For cancellations made after this period, the following fees will be charged based on the total booking amount:

  • Less than 2 weeks before arrival: 50%
  • Less than 1 week before arrival: 100%
